What’s happening in the Adirondacks?

Summer in the Adirondacks is full of energy, beginning in late May and lasting through mid-October. We love seeing seasonal visitors enjoying the trails, waterways, and local restaurants. This is an important season for small businesses in our area, and we do our best to support them—especially the roadside farmers’ stands filled with fresh produce, specialty jams, and unique gifts. We enjoy talking with the owners about farm life, knowing how much strength and dedication it takes to care for livestock, tend the soil, harvest crops, and support their families. We deeply respect this way of life and do our best to support these farmers on their journey.

Bob attended a wonderful class at The Adirondack Folk School to learn from a master birdhouse craftsman how to build a beautiful birdhouse. He’s excited to lend his skills to the shop and offer some items for sale soon. If you haven’t heard of the Folk School, I encourage you to click the link above and check them out. They offer a variety of classes taught by experienced artists and are a year-round highlight in our Lake Luzerne community.

What’s happening in the shop?

I’ve expanded the wearable art collection to include more bracelets, necklaces, and linen dresses. A linen sheath dress is a great investment and for many of my friends who winter in Florida, it’s a must have in the wardrobe.

I’m also creating table linens, a personal favorite because they offer a simple way to bring warmth and charm to the table, bedroom, or bath. The seasonal collection is growing with fun Halloween pieces, and in just a few weeks, I’ll begin working on Christmas items. I know, I know—but stitching takes time and intention, so I need to stay a little ahead of the season.

This fall and winter, I’ll be building the Nature in Art Collection, inspired by the flowers, wildlife, blue skies, and forests of the Adirondacks. I’m turning our photos into needlework templates that will be available either as finished art pieces stitched by me or as kits you can complete yourself. I’m excited to share this journey with you, so stay tuned!
